What's one vintage or antique piece you’ve built an entire room around?

Every treasure hunter has that one find. Whether it’s an antique fireplace mantel imported from France or a salvaged historic light fixture, show us your most unique finds!

I design and built an entire room around an Antique Doors that set the tone for this Bedroom.

One of my favorite vintage elements I’ve built a room around was a pair of antique wood doors that belonged to the home. They aren’t functional closet doors in this space. They’re simply mounted as a decorative feature.

The doors have incredible character, with aged wood, detailed panels, and a patina that only comes with time. Once they were installed, they became the focal point of the room and influenced the rest of the design.

We kept the surrounding finishes simple, including neutral walls, light flooring, and clean wood

furnishings, so the doors could take center stage. The contrast between the rustic wood and the more modern elements creates warmth without making the room feel heavy.

Sometimes a single architectural piece is all you need. In this bedroom, the antique doors add history, texture, and personality that no new material could replicate.
