can someone outline the criterion for a yearly houzz best of badge….also what is the timing associated with the determination for a badge?

There are 4 badge types and there are different criteria for each.
- Best of Houzz Design - This is based on the popularity of project photos as determined by the number of saves by community members they have in the award year. To be eligible, a pro must have uploaded new project photos in the last three years - though a photo from any year can win. The total number of saves to be in the top in a particular category or location varies depending on the location or category - since the number of pros you are competing against also varies by those factors.
- Best of Houzz Service - This is determined by the pro’s overall review rating from clients and the reviews received in the award year. The best way to win this badge is to encourage your happy clients to leave reviews for your projects promptly after the conclusion of the project. All reviews received before the end of the award year are considered.
- Best of Houzz Innovator is awarded to pros providing a best-in-class client experience by winning the Best of Houzz Service, being Houzz Pro Certified, and managing their projects through Houzz Pro.
- Best of Houzz Photography has the same criteria as the Best of Houzz Design but is awarded to photographers uploading their work vs. design and construction pros.
The 2026 awards will be announced in mid-February of 2026 and are based on profile activity during 2025. Hope that makes sense!
